Bovet has decided to make green dials a central theme for its 2020 collections, and the style is perfectly illustrated in fresh versions of its Miss Audrey and Monsieur Bovet models.
The idea is to link the colour green to environmental protection and the way in which mechanical watches, powered only by the energy wound into a main spring and built to last for decades, are paragons of sustainability.
Monsieur Bovet and Miss Audrey watches both perform the same trick of doubling up as wristwatches and standalone clocks that can also be worn on a necklace.
Monsieur Bovet shows a mastery of energy efficiency with a seven day power reserve from a single barrel.
Both the Monsieur Bovet and Miss Audrey’s green dials have guilloché dials decorated in the lotus flower style where twelve petals symbolise the twelve hours and decorated with appliqué Arabic numerals.
The ladies’ piece houses an automatic 11BA15 movement in a 36mm steel case decorated with 103 diamonds around the bezel.
It is priced at CHF 20,500.
Monsieur Bovet uses a hand-wound 13BM09A1 movement in a 43mm white gold or red gold case priced at CHF 53,000 and CHF 50,000 respectively.
