No dates have yet been announced for Watches & Wonders Geneva in 2021.
We don’t even have a name for the exhibition that will be anchored by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Chopard, Chanel and Tudor, the brands that announced yesterday they are leaving Baselworld for Geneva.
All we have been told about the date of the concurrent shows at Geneva’s Palexpo Centre is that it will take place in early April.
In an effort to narrow down the possible dates for the show, WatchPro has done a bit of detective work by looking at the availability of hotels throughout April, and found that there are plenty of affordable rooms in Geneva until April 14, including Hôtel de La Cigogne and Le Richemond, which have both been used in previous years to host retailers and editors during SIHH.
From April 15, availability for decent hotels in the city drops to almost zero, suggesting Richemont may have block booked the best rooms for its guests while other brands scramble to secure beds.
Watches & Wonders Geneva has not responded to a question about the dates for next year, but if I were a betting man, I would predict it will start on April 15.
