Blancpain has added a 38mm model to its Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe family.
Bathyscaphe diving watches were first introduced in the 1950s, and reissued in 2013 as a 60th anniversary launch that took on vintage elements of the original.
The 2017 model has a steel unidirectional bezel with black ceramic inserts and hour-markers in an alloy trademarked as Liquidmetal.
It has a luminescent dot on the bezel serving as an index for divers so that they know the start and finish time of a dive.
The watch is water-resistant to approximately 300 meters.
Inside is a Caliber 1150 movement with gold oscillating weight equipped with two series-coupled barrels ensuring a 100-hour power reserve.
It has a balance spring in silicon, whose low density makes it lighter and thus more shock-resistant.
The new three-hand 38 mm Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe model is now available in black from Blancpain Bond Street.
