Each time February rolls around so does a sigh from many a romantic as they get wrapped up in all things love. Blancpain – ever keen to help its clients celebrate life’s special moments – launched its Saint-Valentin timepiece to appeal to such dreamers.
It is a women’s self-winding watch that boasts whimsical hearts and diamonds on the outside and a practical 100-hour power reserve on the inside. The flurry of five red ceramic hearts, which have to be applied in liquid form before being fired, sit atop a white mother of pearl base with diamonds picking out each hour.
The 34mm steel case is then lifted by a bezel set with a double row of brilliant-cut diamonds for some extra romantic sparkle. The Saint-Valentin has been produced in a run of just 99 pieces this year, giving the sense that love really is a limited-edition feeling.
