Berry’s Jewellers will raise money throughout 2021 in aid of the Dementia UK charity, the Leeds-based jeweller has announced.
Dementia UK is dedicated to providing specialist Admiral Nurses who work with dementia patients and their families with one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions which can be hard to find elsewhere.
They are continually trained, developed and supported by Dementia UK.
Berry’s Jewellers is supporting Dementia UK because the devastating condition affects several of its colleagues and their families.
This includes the group operations manager and chair of the Berry’s Charity Scheme, Simon Oxby, who lost his father to dementia in October 2020. The company hopes to raise £5,000 for this worthwhile cause.
“This partnership will be a great way to not only have some fun but also raise awareness and money for Dementia UK. All money raised will help Dementia UK provide more Admiral Nurses to help families facing dementia. From personal experience, dementia is such a challenging condition that affects more than just the person with dementia; many people will hopefully benefit from our fundraising,” Mr Oxby says.

The support of an Admiral Nurse is a lifeline for families affected by dementia and the invaluable support of Berry’s Jewellers will mean we can provide this vital, life-changing support to even more families who need it.”
