Berry’s brings Patek Philippe to prime York retail location

Corner unit at the top of Stonegate is at the gateway to York Minister cathedral.

Berry’s has revealed it will open a third store in the historic centre of York, all of them on the famous Stonegate thoroughfare leading up to York Minster cathedral.

The new store, located on the corner of Stonegate and Low Petergate, has stood empty for some time since former tenant Links of London shut down.

It will be the second Berry’s boutique opened in York since the start of the pandemic.

Berry’s will have ten showrooms across Leeds, York, Windsor, Newcastle, Nottingham and Hull when the new boutique opens in 2022.

Last year, the jeweller opened a corner boutique at the other end of Stonegate with an Omega shop in shop alongside space for  Breguet,Vacheron Constantin, Blancpain and Berry’s Fine Jewellery Collection.

York has always been considered a tourist-driven city, but Berry’s has found no shortage of domestic demand for its premium watches and jewellery during the pandemic.

The new store will house a Patek Philippe boutique, complementing space for Berry’s Fine Jewellery.

Berry’s is moving into the old Links of London space on York’s Stonegate.

“What a fantastic year we have had and 2022 looks even more exciting, with several projects in the pipeline, the first being the addition of our third showroom in the historic City of York,” Berry’s reveals on its LinkedIn page.

“Our new store will be at number 60 Stonegate, which has purportedly been in existence on this site since 1646. The new store will house a brand new dedicated Patek Philippe showroom and our Berry’s Fine Jewellery showroom. This new concept will allow us to offer some of the most unique jewellery designs in the UK in a new and luxurious setting. We have worked in partnership with Patek Philippe for many years and this is a natural progression for us,” the company adds.
