Baselworld proves smash hit for Raymond Weil

Swiss watch brand Raymond Weil is riding the crest of wave in the aftermath of this year’s Baselworld exhibition.

The brand became the talking point of the whole watch industry when it unveiled its exclusive partnership with none other than The Beatles. It has produced a stylish limited edition watch celebrating the 13 albums of Fab Four.

UK brand director of Raymond Weil, Craig Leach, spoke to WatchPro to discuss both this partnership and the broader success of the show for the company.

“Baselworld 2016 has been extremely successful for Raymond Weil. We unveiled an extra dimension to the brand, with the introduction of sports and divers watches into our core offer, including Tango 300 and Freelancer Diver. There is an all new ladies shine collection, with the flexibility of a patented interchangeable strap and bracelet. All of the new product received an extremely positive reaction from buyers and media,” Leach enthused.

“We also used the event as an international platform for the launch of The Beatles partnership, the biggest selling music artists of all time. To celebrate our partnership we created a limited edition of 3,000 Maestro automatic timepieces, creating a unique watch featuring all thirteen of the Beatles albums running in chronological order on the dial. The watch received an overwhelming response,” he declared.

Key retailers and media were all in attendance and the general comments of the show from our guests on the stand were that all brands have launched very strong, aggressively priced and commercial products for 2016/17, which can only be good for the UK and world watch economy as a whole,” Leach concluded.
