Bamford Watch Department (BWD) has partnered with Girard-Perregaux to launch an online watch customisation offer for its Cat’s Eye women’s timepieces.
Girard-Perregaux is owned by Gucci’s parent company Kering Group.
It joins LVMH-owned TAG Heuer, Bulgari and Zenith, plus Corum, in giving official permission to BWD to customise its watches.
Girard-Perregaux’s Cat’s Eye timepiece will be the first available for customisation on the platform where customers can design their own unique watch using different colour combinations on the dial, as well as different coloured straps.
A finished steel case watch with a diamond bezel costs £12,500.
George Bamford, BWD founder, commented: “We were asked by a client to customize a Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye. We approached Girard-Perregaux to make this work, and they were excited by the challenge.
“They loved the way we were able to customise the dial through our online personalisation technology, and by using our special technique to create a series of really striking dials.
“The result is a new partnership, and we are looking forward to working with the brand to develop innovative ideas for women watch collectors. This opens up a new path for us to move into a market for us where there is demand.”
