Bamford London has given a military make-over to its latest Mayfair GMT watches.
There are two new colorways, the Bamford Commando GMT has an army green dial with a black and green internal bezel, the Bamford Predator adopts the all-black cloaking of a stealth bomber.
“I’ve always loved a military inspired aesthetic and I feel that bringing these two new color combinations into our Bamford GMT collection is a perfect fit for the timepiece,” says George Bamford, founder of Bamford London.
Bamford London‘s GMT watches automatic Sellita SW330-1 movements in a steel 40mm cushion-shaped case with a closed back.
The watch can be worn on a steel bracelet, with or without black DLC.
They will go on sale this month for £1,100.
Giving a watch a macho name and a green or black dial to a watch really doesn’t make this a military watch. It seems to me as though a good opportunity has been missed here in producing a fashion watch, instead of some serious kit which can be used by the adventurous, outdoorsy and military type, who wants a really rugged British designed and manufactured watch to accompany them on their travels.
