Backes & Strauss is the latest brand to unveil its timepiece uniquely created for the Only Watch charity auction 2013.
The diamond watch company, which was founded back in 1789, has revealed its Victoria Princess Red Heart watch, which is part of the Victoria Princess collection. Created especially for the Only Watch auction, 2013, which aims to help the fight against muscular dystrophy through its support of the Monaco Myopathy Association.
Talking about the brand’s involvement, Backes and Strauss CEO Vartkess Knadjian said: "We are delighted and honoured to have been selected as one of 40 exclusive brands participating in the Only Watch auction 2013, it is very important for us to give back to the global community."
The timepieces is inspired by a 19th century brooch, which features in the company’s archives and consists of two diamond encrusted , linked hearts. The linked hearts are now the focal point of the Victorian Red Heart. The motif has been repeated again and again in a circle shape to represent the idea of everlasting love, life and friendship.
Rubies are interspersed with Backes and Strauss’ trademark ideal cut diamonds. Additionally, this quartz watch has an 18ct white gold case, a mother-of-pearl dial and sword-shaped hands.
