Aurum Holdings and Breitling go ahead with Manchester boutique opening today

Aurum Holdings and Breitling have made the decision to proceed with the official opening of their branded boutique in Manchester’s intu Trafford Centre shopping mall today.

The company has made no official comment, but WatchPro was informed this morning that the event, which runs from 6-8pm this evening, will take place.

There is no information on whether there will be any changes to the tone and format of the opening, or to security arrangements.

A spokesperson said that Breitling was shocked and saddened by the terrorist atrocity at Manchester’s O2 Arena on Monday, had through long and hard about whether to proceed with tonight’s event.

If the opening goes ahead as planned, the Breitling Jet Team will be there for a meet and greet and to show people how to fly in the Breitling Jet Simulator which will be located in Orient Way.

An L-39 C Albatross aircraft as flown by the Breitling Jet Team will be on display in The Great Hall of the shopping centre.

Shopping centres are certain to see higher levels of security in Manchester and other major cities since the official threat level for the United Kingdom was raised from Severe to Critical last night, meaning that an attack is considered ‘imminent’.

Yesterday, Manchester’s Arndale shopping mall in the centre of the city (pictured top) was briefly evacuated for what turned out to be a false alarm.
