Audemars Piguet produces all-titanium version of its Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar

Austen Chu, one of Asia’s most prolific and respected watch collectors, worked with AP on the design of the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar China Limited Edition.

Audemars Piguet has made a Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in full titanium for the first time.

Limited to 88 pieces, the watch was designed exclusively for the Chinese market.

It has a quick release mechanism that allows the titanium bracelet to be swapped out for straps in red rubber or alligator leather that are provided with the $78,300 watch.

“We chose to contrast the gunmetal titanium with the dark-red week indicator with matching straps, incorporating my Chinese heritage into the piece,” Mr Chu describes.

The 41mm watch has a slate grey dial with Grande Tapisserie pattern, black counters, white gold applied hour-makers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating, black inner bezel.

It is powered by the AP’s automatic Perpetual Calendar Calibre 5134.
