Audemars Piguet encrusts Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon watches with over 400 gems

They all use AP’s openworked hand-wound Calibre 2951 with flying tourbillon and come in a non-gender specific 38.5mm case that stands 11.4mm proud on the wrist.

Audemars Piguet is showing off its horological and gem setting skills in a capsule collection of six new Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon watches in white or pink gold encrusted with diamonds and other precious coloured stones.

Different models use different combinations of gems, but the most colourful uses 397 brilliant-cut multi-coloured gemstones on the case, bezel, inner bezel and buckle; an additional 62 on the dial and 9 sapphires on the tourbillon.

Together, there are around 3.5 carats of gems including rubies, tsavorites, emeralds, topaz, tanzanites, amethysts and various coloured sapphires.

Slightly more subtle styles include four models paved with graded blue sapphires.

The diamonds and gemstones have been individually cut and polished before being set in gold by the hand of jewellers.
