Audemars Piguet is reshaping its business by bringing in influences from other industries including high fashion and 5-star hotels.
The company has timed a fresh drop of watches to coincide with a new fashion season, which kicked off with New York Fashion Week.
New models include an openworked tourbillon in the CODE 11.59 family, two titanium Royal Oaks, one a minute repeater and the other a perpetual calendar, and two new frosted gold (pink or white told) Royal Oak chronographs.
CODE 11.59 Tourbillon Openworked
AP has made a hand-finished openworked Calibre 2948 movement for its latest CODE 11.59, which is housed in a two tone 18ct white and pink gold case.
The company is obsessed with the CODE’s case. In this instance the use of contrasting pink and white gold, combined with alternating hand brushing and polishing, draws attention to the 41mm case’s angular and rounded surfaces.
Royal Oak Minuted Repeater Supersonnerie
Audemars Piguet’s chiming, hand wound, Calibre 2953 is housed in a 42mm titanium case for the latest Supersonnerie.
The duller sheen of titanium is complemented with a smokey grey guilloché dial.
It has a closed case back with a graphic representation of the sound that the minute repeater makes when it chimes.
Royal Oak Frosted Gold Chronograph
AP has provided a sapphire case back for two new Royal Oak Frosted Gold Chronographs, exposing the hand-wound Calibre 4401.
There are 18ct white or pink gold models with integrated bracelets.
The 41mm watches come with black or blue Grande Tapisserie dials.
They are being launched exclusively in Japan this month before reaching the United States in October.
Titanium Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar
A new combination of a brushed titanium case and integrated bracelet has been brought together with a blue Grande Tapisserie dial with contrasting grey subdials for the latest Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar.
The 41mm watch houses the selfwinding Calibre 5134 driving week, day, date, astronomical moon, month, leap year, hours and minutes, and which can be admired through a crystal case back.
It is launching this month exclusively in the United States before reaching other countries in October.
