Armin Strom’s Dual Time Resonance wins Red Dot Award

The design team behind Armin Strom’s Dual Time Resonance has won the Red Dot Design Award for 2019.

Given for ‘excellence in product design’ the Swiss-based brand gained the award in the watches category.

As part of the design process for the Dual time Resonance, the team placed the two movements apart horizontally in order to amplify the form-follows-function horizontal movement architecture of the caliber ARF17.

The brand’s co-founder and technical director, Claude Greisler, commented: “We are highly honoured by this award. We are proud to join the ranks of exceptional prize-winners.”

Serge Michel, founder of the manufacture, added: “As a young and independent manufacturer we were particularly happy to accept the prize for a phenomenal mechanical watch. We are grateful to the jury for this award and wish to thank all our employees for their dedication, vision and passion.”

The winning watch contains 70 jewels, 419 components and comes in a white gold case.

It is water resistant to 50m, has polished stainless steel hands and retails for CHF 200,000.
