Global watch auctioneer Antiquorum is launching into its 40th Anniversary celebrations with an auction of rare timepieces in Hong Kong later this month.

The Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces auction will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong on February 22nd at 11am and will include 250 lots, highlights of which include Lot 250, a Patek Philippe Ref. 5004A stainless steel wristwatch with split-seconds chronograph made in a limited edition of only 50 pieces with an estimate of between HKD 4million and 5million; Lot 236, a Patek Philippe Ref. 5004J yellow gold wristwatch with a black dial offered at auction for the first time with an estimate of between HKD 2.5million and 3.1million; Lot 231, an innovative and unique Richard Mille tonneau-shaped “Tourbillon Prototype” magnesium wristwatch with an estimate of between HKD 2million and 3million as well as a series of ‘exceptional’ Rolex classics.

Antiquorum was established in Geneva in 1974 and helped cultivate a worldwide collector’s market for high value timepieces with excellent provenance and desirable rarity, pioneering the thematic auction in the 1980s and setting many world records in the process.

Previews will be held in Singapore, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
