Amazon UK is pushing further into the Swiss watch market with a fresh raft of brand signings.
The online retailer has taken on a number of new Swiss-made watch brands and said told WatchPro that it will continue to develop this category throughout the year.
New brands to sign deals with Amazon UK include Chronoswiss, U-Boat, Meccaniche Veloci, Perrelet, Doxa and Armand Nicolet.
The retailer is also strengthening its fashion watch segment with fresh signings. It is now stocking Oxygen, Daniel Wellington, Timex’s collaborative line with Liberty, and the watch line from US fashion designer Vince Camuto.
Amazon has also taken stock of a watch that can be fitted with a pay-as-you-go SIM card and acts as a phone, allowing wearers to send and receive calls and text messages. The CandyTech phone watch has been created by a brand called Madison New York and has an RRP of £150.
The watch offer at Amazon will continue to evolve over the coming months according to Julian Exposito-Bader, head of vendor management of jewellery watches Amazon UK. He said that as well as building up its Swiss watch offer the retail site is also planning to curate a collection of British-designed watches in the summer.
