Alsta makes a sequel for its legendary Jaws diver’s watch

The Alsta Nautoscaph Superautomatic was first released in 1970 and adorned on the wrist of Oceanographer Matt Hooper, played by Richard Dreyfuss, in the 1975 film

Alsta is to release a new edition of the famous watch worn by the lead character in the iconic film blockbuster, Jaws.

The Alsta Nautoscaph Superautomatic was first released in 1970 and adorned on the wrist of Oceanographer Matt Hooper, played by Richard Dreyfuss, in the 1975 film.

Now the re-edition Nautoscaph Superautomatic will be limited to 1,975 pieces worldwide.

It is manufactured and assembled entirely in Switzerland except for the movement which is by Seiko of Japan.

It comes with a 316L Marine grade brushed stainless steel case with polished edges, a matte black dial, with a Automatic Seiko NH35A 24 jewels movement.

The Alsta Nautoscaph Superautomatic retails at $1,035.

Alsta was one of the victims of the quartz crisis of the early/mid-70s and finally succumbed in 1982.

It was revived in 2016 and since then has designed and released four models including the new Nautoscaph Superautomatic.

  1. This must be some tech in the case… $1k+ for the same movement in an Invicta Pro Diver that goes for $60 on Amazon? I don’t think Jaws and history is enough..
