Alan Mace to retire as Citizen UK director

Alan Mace is set to retire as managing director of Citizen UK next month, following 12 years at the helm of the watch brand’s UK operations.

Mace has been credited with “remarkable leadership” that has driven the brand’s position in the UK, scooping industry accolades and widening Citizen’s outreach.

He will be succeeded by Citizen UK’s current brand director Mark Robinson, who will take over the MD role on March 1.

Robinson is regarded as a pivotal part of the product development team and will continue to broaden the reach of the Citizen brand to a wider consumer audience.

Mace said: “It has been the most exciting and rewarding time in my business career. I’m thrilled for Mark who richly deserves this promotion and I know I will be leaving the brand in safe hands.”

The brand set new turnover records last year for its Eco-Drive brand and won the UK Jewellery Awards Watch Brand of the Year prize, and the Company of Master Jewellers Supplier of the Year award.
