Innovative manufacturing has allowed Tissot to produce an automatic watch with a solid 18ct gold case that will retail for less than £1,800.
While the electroforming technique might not be new, its use to reduce the price of solid 18ct gold watches would seem to be.
Electroforming the Tissot Vintage watch cases means almost no wastage of the precious metal when compared to traditional machining techniques that reduce a vast amount of the raw material to swarf.
The 40mm watch is available in 18ct yellow or rose gold and contains Tissot’s Swiss made PowerMatic 80 automatic movement with an 80 hour power reserve, features sapphire crystal and exhibition caseback and is water resistant to 30m.
