British watch brand Accurist is supporting an initiative by the British Red Cross to raise awareness about the battle of Monte Cassino in World War II.
The battle, which involved 37 nations, cost the lives of 75,000 servicemen. The area in Italy is still blighted with areas that are littered with unexploded ammunition.
Accurist will present two watches at a gala dinner fundraiser. One, a Greenwich Masters Grand Complication, will go to Cobham?s counter-IED expert, David John Daniels who was appointed a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the Queen’s 2012 honours list.
The second, a Limited edition Celestial Watch has been donated to the evening?s silent auction that will be raising money for the British Red Cross.
