The owner of the Titanium and Ruby Collection of Patek Philippe timepieces has not been disclosed, but amassing the cache of 16 vintage and contemporary watches was a labour of love and skill over two decades.
They will be sold at Christie’s Hong Kong July and Autumn auctions, the date of which has not been fixed in light of uncertainty caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Star of the auction is a unique titanium tonneau shaped automatic minute repeating annual calendar wristwatch (pictured above left), ref.5033, dating from around 2003. It has a pre-auction estimate of $800,000 to $1,500,000.
Another highlight is an 18ct gold automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch with moon phases and ruby numerals (above right), ref. 3448/8, from around 1965 and valued at $500,000 to $800,000.
