Bonhams Knightsbridge sale starts today


The latest Bonhams Knightsbridge Watches Sale begins at 1pm today with more than 200 timepieces going under the hammer.

Knightsbridge sales are known for offering a wider range of brands at more affordable prices than the Bond Street auctions, and there are pieces to suit every collectors’ taste.


Highlights of today’s sale include:

Longines 1939 Pilot’s Watch

Estimate: £15,000 – 20,000

Longines stainless steel manual wind pilots hour angle watch sold by A Cairelli Roma in c.1939.

Designed by American pilot Charles Lindbergh in partnership with Longines, the watch allowed for accurate determination of longitude during long-distance flights. As a result, pilots and navigators were able to find their geographic location quickly, efficiently and with great accuracy.


Patek Philippe pocket watch

Estimate £12,000 – 18,000

This highly attractive Patek Philippe pocket watch with diamond set bezel bears a personal inscription from celebrated Irish tenor John McCormack  to Frank Borzage who was the producer on the film ‘Song O’ My Heart’ in which McCormack appeared.

The watch was made in 1928 and sold in 1929.


IWC Perpetual Calendar

Estimate £12,000 – 18,000

The IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 5022 was introduced in 2006, pairing IWC’s self-winding 7-day movement with Kurt Klaus’ ingenious perpetual calendar module. It records the date with a four digit year display and all the functions are set by the single crown for ease of use, making the watch a true technical marvel.


A. Lange & Söhne

Estimate £8,000 – 12,000

Classic German craftsmanship is found in this 18ct gold A. Lange & Söhne manual wound 1815 Up & Down wristwatch purchassed in 2017.


Patek Philippe Calatrava 5053R-001

Estaimate £8,000 – 12,000

Dating back to 2005, this Patek Philippe Calatrava, ref. 5053R-001, is an 18ct rose gold automatic calendar timekeeper.
