Le Rhone may be named after the mighty river that has its source in the Swiss Alps, but it is the 1969 Chevrolet Camero that provides the inspiration for its Road Racer timepiece that will be unveiled at Baselworld.
Details from the classic muscle car are echoed in the watch’s design including dashboard counters, a customised oscillating mass and an anti-magnetism cage inspired by the steering wheel shape and a vertical guilloche dial shaped like the car’s headlights.
It even contains a numbered plate on the side made from part of an original Camaro engine block. A limited run of 69 units has been made of the watch, which uses the Dubois-Depraz automatic movement DD2017.
