The only privately-owned Bulova chronograph watch to be worn on the moon—by Apollo 15’s Colonel Dave Scott in 1971—was snapped up for a record $1.625m (£1.16m) at a recent auction.
Fear not, though, the company has moved to ensure customers can get their hands on one just like it by producing a special edition moon watch chronograph replica.
The piece is updated with exclusive UHF (Ultra High Frequency) quartz technology for ultimate timekeeping accuracy to seconds a year, while other notable features include a signature continuous-sweep second hand, super- luminous hands and markers, sapphire glass, tachymeter and calendar in a 316L stainless steel case, with water resistance to 50 meters. And at $550 (£394) in the US it’s considerably more affordable than the original that fetched an inter-galactic fortune.
