What a year it has been for Britain’s biggest watch brand. The selective distribution strategy adopted several years ago has produced a lean, motivated and impeccably professional network of multiple and independent retailers.
The commitment of these retailers to Rolex is incredible, and so are the returns.
Rolex became the UK’s first quarter of a billion pound brand in its latest financial year with sales of £268 million. Granted, the weakness of the pound meant the world beat a path to the UK to buy high end watches, but Rolex and its retailers were perfectly positioned in the prime Central London shopping areas (and Heathrow) to benefit more than any other brand.
