In November WatchPro unveiled its Watches of the Year 2013, made up of 10 winning timepieces and 90 highly commended watches that we felt boasted commercial appeal, innovation and had wowed consumers and retailers alike over the past 12 months.
Highly commended for the WatchPro Innovative Watch of the Year 2013 was the Hamilton Jazzmaster Face2Face.
Hamilton’s Jazzmaster Face2Face is innovative both inside and out. The unusual, oval watch can be flipped, offering the wearer a choice of two watches in one.
The brand said it has ventured into new terrain with this “dual identity” watch, which is a timepiece that is both avant-garde and classic in its design.
The Face2Face features a stainless steel rotating case housing two dials and two automatic calibres – one a chronograph and the other a three-hander.
The wearer can switch between the two sides of the watch, enabling them to track a second time zone.
The design features skeletonised rotors, sapphire crystal on both sides and a smoked crystal dial with blue accents.
This watch demonstrates playful appeal and contemporary watchmaking from a brand famed for its combination of long-standing classic design and iconic models. A talking-point piece that thoroughly deserves its spot among the top 10.
