William & Son welcomes heads of its watch brands to a three day London showcase

Upmarket Mayfair department store William & Son is holding a three day watch event beginning on May 10 at which leaders from the top end watch brands it sells will present their latest collections.

It will be the first opportunity, in some cases, to see the watches from luxury brands including De Bethune, F.P. Journe and Graham in the UK.

On Thursday, May 10, founders, CEO’s and watchmakers from De Bethune, F.P. Journe, Graham, H. Moser & Cie, Moritz Grossmann, Laurent Ferrier, Ludovic Ballouard and Romain Gauthier will all be under one roof at William & Son to present brand new timepieces seen for the first time since SIHH and Baselworld.

That evening, the eight exclusive artisan watch brands will show the skill that goes into hand-finishing a luxury during a champagne party.

William & Son managing director William Asprey will host a panel discussion with CEO’s and watchmakers to debate the role that traditional handcrafts and methods have to play in an increasingly automated luxury industry, and how they can ensure survival.

Watchmaking masterclasses during the event will include a presentation by master watchmakers at Laurent Ferrier polishing components to a mirror finish before they help guests have a go at it themselves, and a look at anglage finishing from Romain Gauthier’s in house expert.
