Weird Ape says Black Friday all-but cleaned it out of stock

Emerging British watch business Weird Ape says it almost sold out of its stock over the Black Friday weekend.

Co-founder Callum McVickers told WatchPro that 90% of the watches available to buy online were exhausted by the time Cyber Monday came round.

Mr McVickers said that a combination of targeted social media marketing, a 10% discount and publicity surrounding Weird Ape’s world first delivery of watches using a drone contributed to the successful weekend.

The company would not share exact figures on how many watches it sold via its website, but Mr McVickers said they had over 1000 watches in stock ahead of Black Friday and they are “pretty much all gone”. A fresh delivery is coming in tomorrow, he added.

Weird Ape has made a successful transition into wholesale this year, with around 40 doors already for the brand, mostly in the North of England.
