July cover

WatchPro July issue is out now

The July issue of WatchPro is out now, available in both print and digital formats.

The issue, which includes Issue 3 of our quarterly SmartWatchPro supplement, features GfK’s analysis of Q1 watch sales in the UK, which exhibited a big jump in the average sale price of watches.

Inside the issue WatchPro also talks to watch specialists at four major UK auction houses to discuss the increasing popularity of dedicated watch sales, how the lots are sourced and how the trade can work with auction houses.

WatchPro editor James Buttery also interviews Yann Gamard, president of Glashütte Original, to uncover what his UK retail plans are for the German watch brand and what makes it unique coming from watchmaking hub Glashütte, a small town in the German countryside that is home to many successful watch brands.

Mondaine co-owner Andre Bernheim also discusses what changed his mind on smart watches and the technology behind the company’s first smart watch, the Helvetica 1 horological smart watch.

We also talk to two recent graduates from Birmingham City University’s horology degree programme, the first of its kind anywhere in the world, and the School of Jewellery’s head of horology, Jeremy Hobbins.
