WatchHub wins Ebel in Swiss brand expansion

Online and bricks-and-mortar retailer WatchHub has welcomed Ebel to its offer as it begins to increase its portfolio of Swiss watch brands.

The retailer has undertaken a store re-fit at its bricks-and-mortar location, Paul Kay Jewellers, ahead of Ebel‘s arrival, part of its bid to highlight its soon-to-increase Swiss watch offer.

WatchHub co-founder Robin Kamal said: "Although we’ll be moving to new premises in two years, in the meantime we wanted to highlight our Swiss brands and create additional space for them, whilst at the same time creating a clear separation from our fashion brands.”

The retailer is set to visit BaselWorld next month with the aim of growing its Swiss watch portfolio.

Kamal explained that WatchHub has enjoyed "exceptional success" in the past 12 months, despite the recession testing its mettle.

"While WatchHub has doubled the number of fashions watches it offers, many Swiss brands have for various reasons, sought to decrease the number official retailers," he said.

"Despite this sentiment, we are thrilled to have secured Ebel as part of our portfolio and will be looking to expand the number of Swiss brands we offer at the upcoming Basel Watch Fair.”

The retailer said it will also continue to seek out new fashion watch brands.
