Watches2U forecasts Christmas growth as web soars

Watches2U said it is positive about Christmas trading as the retail site racks up record traffic levels.

The watch retailer has been running a TV ad campaign for the first time. The ad, which you can watch below, made its debut last Wednesday and will be running until December 15 on channels 5USA and 5USA+1.

Watches2U said that its recently updated site has been "hitting new records month after month". The site was revamped to offer shoppers an easier check out process and increased communications both on the site and through a weekly newsletter.

The retailer has also introduced interest-free finance options on its watches, and is currently offering extended returns on its watches as a Christmas promotion.

Watches2U managing director Danny Toffel said: “This year the website is looking better than ever, and with the increasing number of brands we work in partnership with, I’m confident we will see significant growth in our Christmas trade.”

Watches2U has signed up a number of new brands over the past few months that include Marc by Marc Jacobs, Elliot Brown, TW Steel, Ferrari, Hugo Boss Orange, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Candino, Lotus and Nixon.

The company also opened a bricks-and-mortar store in August. The shop in Brighton is branded Chriselli and sells watches, jewelllery and sunglasses.
