Bamford Watch Department has subjected its Heritage MilSub watch to an intense test to realise the extent of its waterproof capabilities.
The manufacturer partnered with filmmakers We are Halcyon to record the testing of the timepiece.
‘The Superman’ is a short film about free diver Francisco Del Rosario who tells of his unique story about his world beneath the waves.
George Bamford, founder of BWD, comments: “He [Del Rosario] conveys notions of freedom and following your own journey and passion. Francisco’s energy and approach to life struck a chord with me. I believe in not following the herd and living your passions and it was this same passion that started Bamford Watch Department. I am honoured to see the Bamford Heritage MilSub be tested by Francisco and be captured in this amazing underwater photography.”
Following the testing, BWD said that no modifications were made to the watch. The watch was sent to a free diver to dive with in different water conditions.
Bamford says: “We like it to be tested in a natural manner to reflect realistic use, although free diving is not an everyday thing for most, but Francisco was perfect as he just did what he does best and wore the watch and there were no issues when he finished and used the watch out of the water after the shoot”.
