Tissot returns as timekeeper for rugby’s 6 Nations

Swatch Group brand Tissot has returned as the Official Timekeeper of rugby union’s iconic European tournament, the RBS 6 Nations Championship.

Commercial terms for the agreement were not disclosed.

Tissot was the Official Timekeeper for the 6 Nations from 2004-2005, and will return to the partnership for three years through to 2015.

“Tissot is very proud to, once again, be the Official Timekeeper of the RBS 6 Nations Championship, the greatest annual rugby championship in the world. The sport of Rugby demonstrates many of the core values which we share at Tissot, such as teamwork, respect, discipline and a love for sports. These Championships are therefore the perfect platform for Tissot to be showcasing their timing expertise in an exciting, international environment, which at the same time represents the brand’s spirit perfectly. We cannot wait to get started,” said Francois Thiébaud, president of Tissot.

The agreement will see Tissot branding with all on-screen match-timing graphics. Every referee will also use an exclusive tactile Tissot T-Touch Expert.

John Feehan, chief executive of the RBS 6 Nations, said: “We are delighted to welcome back Tissot as our Official Timekeeper. Their passion for sport in general and for rugby in particular has impressed us greatly and we look forward to another very productive and successful partnership with them.”
