Thieves steal platinum Pateks worth £90,000

Two platinum Patek Philippe watches worth £45,000 each were among the haul of watches taken in a house burglary in Guildford last week.

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses after the watches were taken, still inside a safe, between 7pm on Thursday 27 February and 12.20pm on Sunday 2 March.

Thieves entered the house through a side door and stole the safe containing two platinum Patek Philippe 5146P models, a Cartier watch valued at £4-5,000 and a silver and diamond bracelet valued at £5,000.

Detective Constable Chris Phillips, who is investigating the break-in, said: "These watches are extremely unusual and I wanted to appeal to anyone with any information as to their whereabouts, or who may have been offered them for sale, to come forward. I am also keen to hear from anyone with any information which might help me progress the investigation, which remains ongoing.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting crime reference 45140016001 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
