Swisstec gets the Cartier seal of approval

Respected Essex watch service centre Swisstec has added Cartier to the growing list of Swiss watch brands it works with.

Swisstec has been working towards Cartier accreditation since June 2014 as part of a process that has involved Cartier inspecting the company’s facilities in Hockley and setting exams for the business’ watchmaking and polishing staff. Three Swiss employees also received training at Cartier’s manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

Managing director and owner of both Swisstec and Swiss Time Services and 2015 WatchPro Hot 100 Trailblazer Tony Coe, explains: “We found the process very educational and have benefited greatly from our involvement with the brand. Further investment in our facility, including the case refinishing department, has no doubt helped our accreditation process.”

The accreditation allows Swisstec to carry out repairs to the entire range of Cartier watches.

Coe will be monitoring the number of Cartier watches that arrive for repair and service, especially from multiple retailers, in the coming months to ensure the appropriate level of staffing is achieved.

He added: “We undergo an ongoing training programme within our workshops, allowing our next generation of technical staff the training and resources to become fully trained both as watchmakers and with the products and brands that we support at our facility.”

Swisstec and Swiss Time Services hold Approved Service Centre status with Omega, Girard Perregaux, Ball and Breitling as well as Swatch Group brands including Rado, Longines, Tissot and Hamilton.
