Swatch marked the launch its latest collection with a Gentlemen’s Club themed pop-up at Harrods this weekend.
The 50sq m space on the fifth floor of the world famous Knightsbridge department excudes ‘craftsmanship, style, tradition and tailoring’ to celebrate the launch of the Swiss watch brand’s new Big Classic collection.
The pop-up will be in place for two months before the opening of a permenant Swatch space on the same floor as part of the store’s new fashion watch accessory department.
The space features wooden floors, sharp blues and red walls with tailor’s chalk accents on the walls offering a hint of Saville Row while a lounge area with vintage Chesterfields will offer shoppers a relaxing haven.
The Gentlemen’s Club will also offer advice on sartorial issues such as how to tie a bow tie, shoe shine tips and accessory matching with the new Big Classic watches as well as host a weekly Swatch Bagatelle Championship, the winner of which will receive a watch.
The collection encompasses seven 41mm 316L stainless steel watches that feature clean, sophiscated ‘sans serif’ design queues reminiscent of the Bauhaus school.
Dial colours are limited to black, white, petrol blue, eggshell, silver and orange colour pops with a mix of stainless steel bracelets and leather straps with butterfly buckles.
