Storm London introduces its first connected hybrid watch

British watch business Storm London has introduced its first connected hybrid watch, the HY1.

The monochrome black and white men’s watch is designed to appeal to people wanting to combine health and fitness tracking with a normal looking two handed timepiece.

It has a small LED screen on the lower half of the dial that displays battery life along with notifications of fitness goals including step count through tracked GPS, calories, heart rate and sleep.

If daily goals are not achieved the watch will remind the wearer through animated notifications that it is time to get moving.

Other smart features include phone call and text alerts, the HY1 will vibrate lightly and display a symbol to keep the wearer connected when their phone is out of reach.

The watch talks to an app called LeClock that is used to customise the functions of the hybrid watch and tracking goals over time.

Because of the LED screen’s power consumption, the watch does need charging every few days, but only takes around 90 minutes to recharge.

It goes on sale with UK retailers this month for £119.99.
