St George set to watch over Russian buyers

German skeleton watch specialist Grieb & Benzinger has released a timepiece to honour the Russian (and English) patron saint, Saint George.

The St. George has been released to coincide with the Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi and with Russian enthusiasts of the German brand in mind.

A hand engraving of Saint George on horseback defeating a dragon with his lance can be seen on the watch’s movement through the exhibition caseback in a style typical of Grieb & Benzinger.

The front of the watch is not found wanting in attention to detail either, with a beautiful two-tone, two-part hand guilloché regulator style dial with separate registers with hours, minutes and a sub dial at the six o’clock for the seconds.

An internal cutaway within that sub dial showcases the blue platinum-coated base plate and the finely engraved inner workings of the movement.

Just seven examples of this stunning watch will be produced with a 18K palladium white gold case with a contrasting hand-guilloche on the bezel.
