SIHH 2017 PREVIEW: Girard Perregaux Maison 1966 WW.TC world timer

Girard-Perregaux is entering 2017 on the back of an exceptionally creative year celebrating its 225th anniversary in 2016.

There will be no slow down in 2017, with two models already revealed ahead of SIHH.

For ladies there is are super slim size and diamond-studded editions of the Laureato.

For men, there is a modern reinterpretation of its Maison 1966 WW.TC world timer (pictured above).

GP is among a select few brands to combined chronograph accuracy with world time functions. The coupling gave rise to the WW.TC name, which stands for World Wide Time Control.

The model is instantly recognisable thanks to the two crowns – one on either side of the case. The double crowns simplify setting of the time in two world time zones, leaving a comparatively clear display.

The 40mm watch, which will be released in rose gold or steel, houses an in house GP03300-0022/0027 movement with 46 hours of power. The steel edition has a steel bracelet, while the gold watch has a leather strap.
