Light in the Blue sky is the theme of the pre-SIHH news from Baume & Mercier, which has revealed a men’s Clifton watch and a ladies’ Promesse, both with deep blue dials that fit with the story.
The Clifton GMT Power Reserve, which will retail for £3100 in the UK, has been given a dual time indicator for 2017, making it an ideal companion for somebody with his headquarters in a different continent.
The Clifton’s Automatic Soprod 9035 movement is housed in a 43mm steel case that contrasts elegantly with the deep blue face displaying hours, minutes, seconds, and dates at 12 and 3 o’clock.
The 2017 ladies’ Promesse Moon Phase uses a radial vignette of lighter blue at the centre of the dial to a night time blue by the time you reach the four diamond hour markers at the quarter hours.
In a modern twist, the oversized moon phase drawing dominates the upper quadrant of the blue lacquered dial, which is framed by 30 diamonds on the bezel set like two crescent moons.
The 34mm watch, containing a Ronda quartz movement, will retail in the UK for a highly competitive £3200.
