Sevenfriday adds NFC authentication chip to its Spaceship watch

Sevenfriday has added an NFC chip that enables its M-Series collection, dubbed the “Spaceship”, to be authenticated using an Android-based phone app.

The brand’s M3/01 Spaceship is a continuation of the M-Series, square shaped timepieces that use metal discs that rotate in a window to display the time. This 47mm piece comes in an all-black case with red and gray detailing.

It uses three overlapping sandblasted white discs with black numbers and tracks in order to show hours, minutes and seconds. A red indicator is placed at the 9 hour mark and the minute indicator on the inner circle.

The Miyota 8215, which runs for 40 hours, is protected with a mineral glass and a screw down case back.

The company says the piece will hit UK shelves around March 15 for £995 and that the quantity of these pieces is “quite small”.
