Independent watchmaker Sevenfriday has added its first all-new design model to its industrial and oversized S-Series since 2014.
The S3/01 has a square box shaped case housing a dial with an open work interface and unique animation ring.
The company says the new model, which goes on sale today, will become a flagship watch for the company.
Paying homage to industrial engines, the S3/01 strips down the watch mechanism to its chassis.
“The S3/01 is where the rubber meets the chassis. The power of the well-constructed engine, chassis and engine block validates the industrial engine entry for the S-Series,” says Dan Niederer, CEO and co-founder of Sevenfriday.
“The timepiece appeals to car aficionados, design enthusiasts and techies alike. The S3/01 is a watch for admirers of fast moving cars and unconventional thinking.”
The open design of the S3/01 reveals the internal framework of the multi-level movement and dial.
The matt red hour hand and rhodium minute hand are layered between a rhodium 60-second brake disc while the chassis is encased in a EPDM animation ring with crown protector.
A black printed minute track with 12 Super-LumiNova-infused indexes and the Sevenfriday signature in rhodium are
written on the metal dial plate.
The silicone seatbelt strap with red stitching completes the chassis.
