Seiko extends partnership with Novak Djokovic for a further four years

Seiko has extended its partnership with world tennis number 2 Novak Djokovic through to the end of 2020.

He will be 33 years-old by the end of that year, making it likely he will be brand ambassador through to the end of his top flight career.

Since Mr Djokovic joined with Seiko at the beginning of 2014, he has won 25 tournaments, including six Grand Slams, and was number one in the world for 28 consecutive months.

With every win, he straps on his Seiko Astron GPS Solar watch as he faces the world media and photographers who beam the images around the globe.

Shinji Hattori, the president and CEO of Seiko Watch Corporation says he is looking forward to working with Mr Djokavic for the next three years. “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with Novak over the past three years and we are delighted to continue to support him over the next phase of his remarkable career,” he adds.

On signing the new agreement, Novak Djokovic expressed his delight at the ongoing relationship. “The first three years have been phenomenal and I am so proud to be part of the Seiko family. I really, really look forward to what is ahead of us all in this great partnership.”

As part of this new agreement, Seiko and Mr Djokovic will work together to design watches he needs for every aspect of his life: Astron for his travel, Premier for the special occasion and Prospex for his outdoor sports activities.

Seiko will also continue to support Mr Djokovic’s charitable foundation, which supports children in his home country of Serbia.
