Rudell’s Jon Weston appointed BSoW director

Managing director of watch and jewellery retailer Rudells, Jon Weston, has been appointed as a director of the British School of Watchmaking.

Weston is managing director ofMidlands-based retailer, which began its history back in 1938. In January this year, the Wolverhampton showroom had a Rolex corner and a Patek Philippe wall installed.

Weston has now been appointed director of the British School of Watchmaking and will use his experience to help the school develop is retail-focused content. Speaking about the appointment, Mark Hearn, British School of Watchmaking director and UK managing director of Patek Philippe, said: "The Board of Directors of the British School of Watchmaking is delighted to announce that Jon Weston has been appointed to become a director with immediate effect. The board was keen to appoint someone with strong retail experience, who can bring that expertise to the table and help the school become more retail orientated, and contribute to the organisation offering more retail orientated courses in the future. The appointment is for an initial period of one year. We would like to wish Jon good luck in this additional role."

Earlier this year, Weston was named as a Retail Titan in the WatchPro Hot 100. Speaking to WatchPro he said that the Rolex corner and Patek Philippe wall were working well for the business. He said: "The impact has been very positive, sales have increased nicely and we are now looking to install a larger salon area for each of these brands at our Harborne showroom."

Rudells is a member of the Houlden Group, which is one of the original sponsors of the BSoW.
