Rox and Raymond Weil honour rugby heroes

Luxury retailer Rox and Swiss watch brand Raymond Weil have celebrate the achievements of two rugby heroes.

Guests gathered at a private presentation within the Thrill Room at Rox’s Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh to honour Greig Laidlaw and Mark Bennett, both players represented by Red Sky Management.

Both Laidlaw and Bennet were presented with Raymond Weil watches to mark their achievements in rugby.

Kyron Keogh, managing director at Rox said: “Today was brilliant opportunity to celebrate our partnership with Red Sky Management and recognise the outstanding achievements of their athletes in the Rugby World Cup.  Both Greig and Mark were nominated alongside some real legends in the sport and we are thrilled to celebrate their success with the presentation of these beautiful watches.”

Rugby first team Captain Laidlaw, who was shortlisted for the ‘World Rugby Player of the Year’ at the Rugby World Cup awards in 2015, was presented with a Raymond Weil Freelancer.  Laidlaw started twelve of Scotland’s fourteen Tests last year and came off the bench in their pool victory over the USA, before leading his country out against Australia.

Bennett, who was nominated for ‘Breakthrough player of the Year’ was presented with a Raymond Weil Tango. The highly-rated centre made his test debut in the win over Argentina in November 2014, having previously represented Scotland at age grade level and Rugby Sevens. One of only five players to start every Six Nations match in 2015, Bennett has again proved a danger in the Scottish midfield in the tournament, scoring twice in the win over Japan and once against Australia.

Craig Leach, UK brand director of Raymond Weil, added: “It is a great honour for Raymond Weil to be able to recognise players such as Greig and Mark for their outstanding achievements within rugby and acknowledge the quality of individuals within the sport in general. To mark both player’s achievements we have selected very special timepieces that we hope they will like and will wear throughout their careers.”
