Roseberys auction house takes on three former Christie’s staff members

On the back of Christie’s closing its South Kensington (CSK) salesroom on 19 July, Roseberys auction house has taken on three of the key individuals from Christie’s former operation.

As well as Nic McElhatton, former chairman of CSK, and Fiona Baker, former head of Decorative Arts and Mark Bowis, former jewellery and watch specialist signals the exciting expansion and future plans for Roseberys.

Bowis will be developing the jewellery and watch department at Roseberys in a new full time position.

“We have a five-year growth plan in place and the appointment of Nic, Mark and Fiona, who are great talents and senior seasoned performers, will super-charge those plans,” commented Roseberys.

McElhatton is equally enthused about the prospect of working with his new colleagues:

“Ian [Cadzow, managing director of Roseberys] has built a very successful and ambitious business, and brought together a very special and talented team. Vicki Wonfor, in particular, shows great vision. In many ways Roseberys reminds me of a smaller version of CSK,” McElhatton told the ATG this week.

Roseberys will expand and develop their specialist areas, including their watches and jewellery department, Mark Bowis (a 26 year CSK veteran) hosting his first sale for Roseberys Jewellery & Watch auction this December.
