Rolex created a backstage Oscars greenroom at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland Centre. It was used by actors before and after they went on stage for the Awards.
Rolex sent its own interior Design teams from Geneva to create the room, which was part of its overall sponsorship package for the 89th Academy Awards.
The brand also had a Rolex clock on the Oscars.com website and, perhaps most valuable in terms of publicity, presented a 60 second video at the ceremony that showed moments throughout the history of cinema where a Rolex watch became part of the action.
“In the art of film-making, it’s the smallest details that bring a world to life. Only when every detail is just right can the audience be truly immersed. Rolex is proud to recognise the art and craft of film-making, and to have played a part in some of cinema’s most iconic moments,” the brand said in a statement alongside the video.
