Robert Loomes says exports are surging for its British-made watches

Robert Loomes, a watchmaker that builds luxury timepieces to order at its Lincolnshire workshop, says business is booming on the back of surge of interest in British-made goods.

“With Brexit playing into the hands of foreign investors, British watches have become an affordable and sought after product,” says Robert Loomes, the company’s owner and founder.

A survey by Explain the Market conducted toward the end of 2016 concluded; demand for British products is increasing in countries like America, China and Australia. “This rings true at Loomes watchmakers, with a surge in global demand for our entirely British watch range, including our newest addition to the collection, The Stamford Original,” Mr Loomes reveals.

The Loomes Stamford Original was launched at SalonQP in November last year, with the first watches dispatched from the Robert Loomes workshop in late January.

“The order books for this, and other Loomes collections are dotted with orders from around the world,” Mr Loomes says.
