Richard Mille tees off into women’s golf

Richard Mille is moving into the world of women’s golf by becoming the Major Partner of the Lacoste Ladies Open tournament and sponsoring the Italian champion, Diana Luna.

Number one in her country, Luna has already achieved 31 top 10 finishes, five victories on the European circuit and five victories in the PGA of Italy.

The winner of the Lacoste Ladies Open will take home a ladies’ RM 007 Titanium watch – a one-off piece crafted with a white crown and white rubber strap, engraved with the Lacoste Ladies Open 2013 tournament name on the middle of the case. Luna will also be wearing an RM 007 Titanium for the duration of the tournament.

Richard Mille is seeking to associate its timepieces with the precision, technique, endurance and concentration that are synonymous with the sport of golf. Luna will work with Richard Mille engineers to develop a watch calibre with ergonomics, elegance and performance as key elements, and it is hoped that the partnership will allow the brand to test and develop a product that is designed with adaptability under extreme conditions in mind.

This entry into women’s golf represents the latest sporting collaboration for Richard Mille, which already sponsors Formula One racing driver Felipe Massa, tennis star Rafael Nadal, and 100m world champion Yohan Blake.
